The university manager issued a decision in 1971 to establish the educational techniques center . Then issued his decision in 1979 to amend the center's name to be center for educational techniques and technologies. And lastly issued his decision No.18241/G dated 19/12/2005 to join the center for educational techniques and technologies to the educational services general directorate with changing its name to be : educational means department.               

          It is related to the general supervisor/educational services general directorate, it pays attention to the      operation and maintenance of the educational services, TV transmission and provisions of its needs in coordination with the concerned authorities for all faculties and related sectors.

•  Realizing mission and vision of the university to be one of the international universities in the educational    , research and service fields.        
•  Supporting the curricula through providing curricula-dependant learning sources, in addition to keeping it efficiently.
•  Developing skills of research, exploring, thinking and problem solving by learners.  
• To provide the senate members with the necessary equipment and tools making him able to adapt with the increasing        
• developments and utilizing from the recent information.
• Supporting the senate member to diversify the learning methods.
• Providing different educational options not available in the normal places of education.
